Entities representing police officers articulate with the overthrow of a president’s veto (PT) to a device that would allow them to teach or work as health professionals outside the work hours.
The veto must be considered at the next congress session – there is an expectation that it will be scheduled for May 27. The vetoed provision was in the law that restructured the (National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples) and created the career of federal criminal police.
The text says it applies to federal police, federal road police and federal criminal police the rule of the constitution that prohibits the paid accumulation of public positions, except for the position of teacher or to act as a health professional, provided that there is compatibility of schedules.
The articulation to overthrow the veto is made by Fenaprf (National Federation of Federal Highway Police), Fenapef (National Federation of Federal Police) and Fenappf (National Federation of Penal Police).
The device was the result of an agreement between the Ministry of Management and the categories. To overthrow the veto it takes a majority of deputies and senators. If the vote in a house does not reach the minimum quorum, the veto is maintained.
“The Union police forces, and I speak on behalf of federal road police, have qualified a lot over the years,” says Tácio Melo, president of Fenaprf.
“The implementation of the agreement not only would allow this right to police, but would allow these highly qualified professionals to share their knowledge with academic society. In addition, the norm does not hurt the federal and the country’s legal system.”
