The Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann (PT-PR), said that the installment of a Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) on fraud at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) can “compromise the success of police investigation.”
“A CPMI, in the environment of political exploitation in which it is being proposed, can compromise the success of police investigation, which should remain protected from external interference and information leakage,” the minister in X published.
The discussion about the installation of CPMI has cracked the ruling bench. The creation of the collegiate has been driven by the opposition, which attributes illicit discounts on the benefits of retirees and pensioners to the government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).
However, senators of petistas and other government parliamentarians argue that the investigation could be positive, as illegal discounts would have started during the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The Planalto Palace remains resistant to the idea.
