Georgetown – According to the army, Guyan soldiers have been attacked three times within one day in the Essquibo region in Guyana. Armed men in civil clothing had attacked Guyan patrols along the Cuyuní River, the Guyan Army said on Thursday. The troops had “moderately” reacted and there were no injuries. Guyana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an investigation by the incidents “so that the perpetrators are arrested and brought to court.” It also officially filed a complaint with the Venezuelan authorities.
