Lula signaled that he wants Boulos at the General Secretariat of the Presidency, where he would replace. The intention is to improve the dialogue with social movements.
Coradi denies that the government’s movement is a nod to PSOL. “If the invitation comes, it is to us characterized as an individual invitation, by political articulation, in relation to the political role that Guilherme Boulos has occupied in recent years, to lead a very important movement, to be a political figure of great relevance in national politics,” he says. “That’s why we think that personally he could play an interesting role, yes.”
The president of PSOL states that the party did not participate in any articulation around this possible indication. “We are already the government base and his trip does not change our relationship. We know how to position ourselves the way the party considered it more appropriate at all times,” he says.
Coradi points out that PSOL’s relationship with the government has been well tested in the last three years and that the party has maintained coherence, especially in criticism of economic policy. “We thought it was not adequate to give the necessary response to the population in terms of economic direction, where more state investments and everything else.”
