JPMorgan’s executive director acknowledged that he reacted exalted in February this year when asked about an online petition against the office return policy. “I let the emotions take me a little”Dimon.

During the event in the French capital, the CEO explained his position on face -to -face work. “I gave a very detailed answer about why this does not work for young people, why it does not work for management, why it does not work for innovation.”said Dimon.

JPMorgan’s current policy, implemented in early 2025, eliminated the hybrid regime for thousands of employees. The measure represents an expansion of the rules established in April 2023, when managers were already required to attend the office 5 days a week.

Dimon clarified that about 10% of positions in the bank are still in home office. The implementation of the policy did not result in additional loss of employees, according to the executive, although it was necessary to make adjustments in some areas where there were not enough seats.

The comments that caused controversy took place during a meeting with employees in Columbus, Ohio, in February 2025. At the time, the CEO reacted with frustration when asked about the petition against the return to the office.

“I completely applaud your right to not want to go to the office every day. But you won’t tell JPMorgan what to do”Dimon declared during the interview in Paris.

The JPMorgan CEO expressed optimism about the adaptation of employees. “I think our employees will be happier over time”he said. He emphasized the benefits for less experienced professionals: “And young people learn the right way; it’s a learning system and you can’t learn working from your basement.”
