Training project against sexual harassment starts on Friday (16.mai) and will be focused on bars and nightclubs workers

The Ministry of Women, in partnership with UnB (University of Brasilia), will launch a course on Friday (16.MAI.2025) of training focused on the protocol “is not no”.

The project aims to enable bars and restaurant workers to implement the anti -duty and sexual harassment norm. The standard was sanctioned by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) in December 2023.

The protocol “is not no” argues that women victims of harassment should be “Readily protected by the establishment’s team so that they can report the embarrassment or violence suffered.” They should also be removed and protected from the aggressor, as well as contact with specialized authorities.

According to the legislation, places that market alcohol should have at least one person trained to act according to the protocol.

The course will be free and online, granting at the end a student certificate by UnB’s extension decanate.

The launch will be attended by the course coordinator, Débora Diniz, the National Secretary for Fighting Violence against Women of the Ministry of Women, Denise Motta Dau, UnB Rector Rozana Naves, and more authorities.
