No women on the list
For the second year in a row, there are no women athletes in the early 50 positions on the world’s highest paid athletes list, not even American Coco Gauff, who won $ 34 million last year, a figure that represents the third largest gain of a woman in the historic series, below the gains of Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams ($ 57.3 million and $ 45.9 million, respectively) in 2021.
Gauff gains are much lower than the ranking score of the ranking, which is $ 53.6 million, a lace achieved by Golf Player Xander Schauffele and New York Giants quarterback, Russell Wilson.
Inequality gets even more stark when the athlete’s level is considered. Despite being great athletes, Xander Schauffle and Russell Wilson, in their modalities, are not equated to Coco Gauff, which is the third best tennis player in the world.
