Poland is facing cyber threats before the elections, nask has revealed an extensive network of pro -Russian accounts on social platforms.
Poland has experienced attempts to intervene in the election campaign through social networks that match Russian propaganda. This was announced by the National Research and Academic Network (NASK), specializing in cyber security.
In recent months, the Polish authorities have repeatedly warned that Russia could try to interfere with the presidential elections through cyber attacks and disinformation.
Candidates in surveys
In polls of public opinion before the elections, the Mayor of Warsaw Rafal Trzaskowski, supported by the government civic coalition, leads. He is followed by opposition candidate Karol Nawrocki, chairman of the Institute of Memory of the Nation.
NAK, based on its analysis, found new “information operations”, harmonized with the propaganda of the Russian Federation. It was the activity of a network of hundreds of false accounts on the X network, which were coordinated by pro -Russian reports, he says in a statement.
Disinformation on the telegram
The same Russian narratives were also recorded on the Telegram social platform. The accounts, known for their activities in the field of Russian misinformation, have spread content on the topics of distributing Polish voters-security, foreign policy, migration or socio-economic situation.
Since the beginning of the year, NaSK has identified more than 10,000 accounts in England and Poland trying to influence the election campaign through a warning that there are terrorist attacks on the election day.
The election teams of the T -Cascowski and Nawrocky announced on Thursday that they will report misinformation and activities against their candidates to the prosecutor’s office.
