The first direct negotiations between the Russians and the Ukrainians-as expected-did not bring a fundamental reversal in the Russian-Ukrainian war. However, many have also watched the encounter with tension to see how one or the other delegation would count during them.

Journalists who had the opportunity to look into the Chamber watched every detail.

The cameraman of the British television noticed that the Ukrainians and Russians did not put their hands on the room when they arrived, the correspondent of the Ukrainian party again that the Ukrainians talked to the Russians through an interpreter.

The day of the negotiations eventually ended with two more specific results – Ukrainians and Russians agreed to continue negotiations, and exchange up to a thousand soldiers. According to the head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinský, the exchange of a thousand soldiers for a thousand soldiers should occur in the coming days. The exchange of prisoners, the biggest ever since the beginning of the war, was also confirmed by the Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rusto UMER.

Among other things, during a short briefing in front of journalists, it is also potentially preparing to meet the level of leaders of the countries. At the same time, the parties agreed to write their visions of a possible future ceasefire.

The Russians have raised an unacceptable request

However, there was a moment that aroused passion – especially on the Ukrainian side.

After about two hours of its beginning, the Ukrainian media paused at the information that the delegations took a break during the interviews. Subsequent reports pointed out that the Russians began to condition the censorsion during the session by requirements that were absolutely unacceptable to Ukraine.

According to the station, the Russians should demand that Ukraine withdraw its armed forces from its own territories. The fact that the Russians demanded things that Ukraine considers unacceptable was later confirmed by a spokesman for Ukrainian diplomacy Heorhij Tychyi.

However, he did not specify exactly what the Russians wanted as an exchange for a ceasefire.

“We have extensive experience with all the types of negotiations with the Russians, believe me. Since 2014 there have been many. Therefore, I would say that the Ukrainian delegation knows how to deal with what can sound from the other side,” she quoted.

Threatened to take up another territory

More specific was eventually the foreign correspondent of the prestigious British magazine The Economist Oliver Carroll.

Referring to a well -informed source, he wrote that the Russians threatened the Ukrainians by the anexation of Kharko and the amounts, unless they are withdrawn from the four areas to which Russia is entitled to, but fully controlled by.

In this case, it is a Kersonian, Zaporožská, Donetsk and Luhansk region. He shared a X contribution from the editor -in -chief Russia Today and one of the main Russian propaganda Margarita Simoňan, who wrote that there are reports of the outrage of the Ukrainians when Russian negotiators told them that Ukrainian soldiers must leave four “new Russian regions.”

“The Moscow delegation replied to them, ‘The next time there will be five.’ Our reporter in Istanbul has now asked the Russian side how it was: ‘We didn’t say eight’.

“Russia is ready to fight forever”

But that wasn’t all. According to Carroll, the chief of the Russian delegation had to tell the Ukrainians that the Russians “do not want war, but they are ready to fight for a year, two, three – no matter how long it takes”.

“We’ve been fighting Sweden for 21 years. How long have you been ready to fight?” Medinsky asked Ukrainian negotiators.

In this context, BBC reporter Francis Scarr shared the statement of the moderator of Russian state television Rossijja1 Yevgeny Popov, who said in the broadcast that “our party actually talked about the Swedish War. (…) It took 21 years.

Carroll also added another medina statement. The main Russian negotiator and Putin’s advisor should say to the Ukrainians present during the negotiations that “perhaps some of those sitting here at this table will lose more of their loved ones”. “Russia is ready to fight forever,” it said.
