The CBF announced the date of the election for president of the entity. In a letter this Friday by the intervener appointed by the court, Fernando Sarney, the CBF announced that the election is scheduled for May 25, a Sunday, the day before Carlo Ancelotti, new coach of the national team, in Brazil.

Who are the presidential candidates of the CBF?
There are no confirmed names for the election of CBF president. The plates should be registered between the 18th (Sunday) and 20 (Tuesday) May. Fifteen positions will be chosen: the president of the CBF, eight vice-presidents, three effective members of the fiscal council and three alternate members of the inspector.
Some names listed for the election are: Rubens Lopes, Hélio Cury, Francisco Novelletto, Fernando Sarney, Marcus Vicente, Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, Samir Xaud and Roberto Góes.
Although there are no confirmed plates, Samir Xaud’s name is a favorite to win the election. Training doctor, the leader is president of the Roraimense Football Federation.
– It’s not the electoral moment yet. Do not vote. But I’ve heard (Samir Xaud). I can’t say I don’t know. It’s a great name, good people, ”said Fernando Sarney, CBF’s office president, to ‘Estadão’.
Can Ednaldo Rodrigues return to the presidency of CBF?
Ednaldo was deprived of office last Thursday, after decision of Judge Gabriel Zefiro. The now former CBF president is suspected of forging the signing of a manager in a document recognizing the legality of his reelection as commander of the entity.
Parallel to this, Ednaldo is using the Supreme Court (STF) to return to the position of president of the entity. There is no official decision on this appeal yet.
