Social Security has made available this week a new digital tool that allows citizens to know, more quickly and clearly, what the social supports and subsidies may eventually be entitled. It is an online simulator, accessible to anyone who works simply and intuitively, according to the Institute of Social Security (ISS).
According to the same body, the objective is to facilitate access to information on social benefits, allowing the user to have an immediate idea of his framing based on the data he introduces.
According to ISS, the new simulator has purely indicative results. Simulations serve as guidance, not being binding or constituting a guarantee of approval of social benefits.
The system is based solely on the information entered by the user, so the accuracy of the results depends on the accuracy of the data provided.
How to access it and how long it takes
It refers to the same source that access to the simulator can be done through the Social Security website, and a direct link in the ISS institutional area is also available.
The entity explains that the completion of the questionnaire takes, on average, about seven minutes. At the beginning of the process, the user is informed about the data he must have with him to correctly fill in the necessary fields.
Covers most social benefits
The simulator is designed to cover most of the installments attributed by social security. As the ISS explains, the results concern only the person who performs the simulation and the respective dependents.
If there are other elements in the household, such as spouses or larger children, they should perform their own individual simulation to obtain adjusted results.
We recommend:
Limitations for residents or former workers abroad
The ISS also warns that, in cases of citizens who reside, work or have worked abroad, the results of the simulation may not accurately reflect the concrete situation.
In these cases, the ideal will be to resort to specialized care, since applicable law may vary and involve international conventions.
Support Information in one place
The ISS writes that this new tool seeks to collect the difficulty, felt by many citizens, to realize what support exists and what the eligibility criteria.
With this simulator, the process becomes more transparent and autonomous, reducing the need for displacement or contacts with face-to-face services.
Personalized and adapted results to the user profile
The simulator was developed to present personalized results, taking into account factors such as age, professional situation, number of dependents, income and other relevant elements.
The user also has the possibility to review and change the inserted data, if identifying any errors or intends to simulate different scenarios.
Complement to face -to -face and digital service
Despite being a self -assessment tool, the simulator does not replace traditional social security contact. Adds ISS that, for additional clarifications or to submit requirements, the citizen must use the usual channels: direct social security, telephone, or face -to -face service.
The launch of this tool is part of the strategy of modernizing social security services, with the aim of promoting literacy in social support and facilitating access to social protection.
According to the initiative, the initiative also aims to promote greater justice in access to benefits, preventing citizens from being supported by ignorance of their rights.
