In the Green Heart of Seine-Et-Marne, just a few kilometers from Paris, one of the most mysterious and lavish castles in France stands: Armainvilliers Castle. With an area of 9,000 square meters and surrounded by a farm of 1,100 hectares, this gigantic domain that belonged to the Royal Family of Morocco has gone on sale for 180 million euros, as revealed by the French newspaper The Parisian.
The farm was originally acquired by King Hassan II, and later passed to his son, the current monarch Mohammed VI. However, the French medium emphasizes that none of the members of the Moroccan royal family came to sleep in the castle, “which increases the mystery and secret that surrounds this opulent mansion,” the media has echoed .
The person in charge of moving the sales operation is the real estate agent Brigitte Kahan, who assured the French newspaper that this castle is “the most expensive property of France.” In its first attempt, the property was appraised for more than 400 million euros. After several years without success, however, the price has been reduced to what its managers consider a “reasonable” figure of 180 million.
According to Kahan, despite its astronomical price and maintenance costs that amount to several million a year, the property is still bebeable. In fact, he celebrates that “we have several interested people.” “The property has a gigantic potential, but for now, nothing has been signed,” he says. One of the applicants to acquire the property, according to The Parisianis the winner of a boat of 243 million euros from the Austrian lottery.
The current owner, whose identity has not been revealed, bought the farm in 2008 for 200 million euros, directly to the representatives of the Moroccan crown. As Kahan explained, he now needs liquidity for new investments, so he has decided to get rid of the castle.
