The Minister of the Attorney General of the Union (AGU), Jorge Messias, used social networks on Saturday (17) to praise the work of the Federal Police (PF), after the arrest of Marcos Roberto de Almeida, the Tuta, leader of the CCP and pointed as Marcola’s replacement in the faction.
In a publication in the X, the minister took the opportunity to support the Proposal for Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) of Public Security.
“With the approval of the PEC of Public Security, we will have even more data integration and more effective coordination. We need to give peace and tranquility to citizens in our country,” said the minister.
PEC is one of the priorities for the federal government at the National Congress in 2025.
The proposal was delivered in a symbolic act to the National Congress at the end of April. At the time, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), said he will speed up the proposal.
Safety PEC has been resisting by opposition governors on the grounds that the measure interferes with state autonomy on the theme of public security.
Tuta prison
The Federal Police arrested on Saturday Marcos Roberto de Almeida, the Tuta, the leader of the CCP and named Marcola’s replacement in the faction. The arrest took place in Bolivia.
The information was confirmed by CNN with sources in PF.
A coordinated action between the Brazilian Federal Police and Lucha’s Special Fuerza against El Crial (Felcc) of Bolivia resulted in the arrest of Tuta on Friday afternoon (16) in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. He was arrested on charges of using false identification document.
According to PF, Tuta was convicted in Brazil for criminal association and capital washing, with a penalty of over 12 years. Its name was on Interpol’s red diffusion list, an international alert for the location and arrest of individuals sought after in several countries.
At the moment, the CCP leader remains under the custody of the Bolivian authorities. He awaits the formal confirmation of his identity and the legal procedures that may result in his extradition to Brazil, where he must serve the penalty imposed by the Brazilian Justice.
