May 19 to 25 brings new changes in fuel prices in mainland Portugal. The trend, according to Estimates of Savings Accounts, points to a rise in both diesel and gasoline, which can weigh in the pocket of those who usually supply earlier this week.
Price evolution is influenced, among other factors, by quoting refined fuels in international markets, logistics costs and in force.
Simple diesel should climb 3.5 cents per liter
According to savings accounts, simple diesel should record an increase of about 3.5 cents per liter.
Despite having suffered several descents over the past few weeks, this variation follows the current international appreciation of refined products.
It refers to the same source that these forecasts are indicative, as prices are freely set by each supply post.
Simple gasoline 95 with 3 cents climbing per liter
Simple 95 gasoline should also be increased by 3 cents per liter. This variation represents an inversion against a few recent weeks where the price remained stable or recorded slight descents.
According to the history compiled by savings accounts, gasoline has alternated between climbs and descents since the beginning of the year, these oscillations attributed to the behavior of the global market and internal tax decisions.
Prices vary by brand and location
In Portugal, fuel prices are freely determined, which means that two posts in the same city can practice significantly different values.
To help consumers find the cheapest posts, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action provides the official comparator of the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), accessible through the PRECOScombustiveis.dgeg.gov.pt.
We recommend:
Fuel or wait for Monday?
With the expectation of rising prices from Monday, it may be advantageous to supply before the weekend.
This evaluation depends on the current level of the deposit and the routine of use of the vehicle.
Adds the Accounts Savings that, throughout the year, consumers who plan upon the supply, based on weekly variations, can get significant savings.
Differences in autonomous regions
In Madeira, fuel prices are set weekly by the regional authorities. Applicable values can be consulted on the official page of the Regional Directorate of Economics and Terrestrial Transport.
Unlike the continent, where freedom of pricing, wood applies maximum marketing margins, which provides greater stability in weekly changes.
Accumulated variation reveals oscillating trend
Since the beginning of the year, prices of diesel and gasoline have been oscillating weekly. Diesel, for example, has accumulated several weeks of descents to the latest increase in increase.
Gasoline, although more stable, has alternated between climbs of 1 to 3 cents and punctual descents.
Temporary ISP measures also continue to influence the final price to the consumer, in a context of weekly adjustments by the government.
