Contrary, in most states Lula took, the rate was above the national average
Today IBGE has released the open rate by states. Of the 27 federative entities, in most states in which he won (South, Southeast and Midwest), the rate was below the national average of 7%. On the contrary, in most states it took, the rate was above the national average.
This clipping brings some reflections. The first is that the left usually exploits welfare just where income and employment are lower. Populism serves as a currency of voting for permanence in power. This situation refers to a second reflection: how to gain votes in which populist logic is consolidated? In fact, it is not a simple task to explain to the voter that it is precisely the state dependence that condemns him to poverty. In this sense, the challenge to the right, which defends at first less state, is greater.
However, the task is far from impossible. The election of Javier Milei, who won with an ultra liberal discourse, shows that it is possible to defend logic and rationality as a solution to take people out of poverty. In fact, dissatisfaction with the current Brazilian government makes this moment quite timely.
