What fresh bamboo can do

The asparagus is not the only delicious instinct that spring has to offer. In East Asia the spring bamboo period broke up a few weeks ago: The young sprouts of the giant grass are stung when they look a little out of the earth (and sometimes before)-and are at least expected as long as the first white rods.
