17 people died in the fire of a building in India

The Indian Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the victims of a fire in Hajdarabád and announced compensation.

At least 17 people died and several others have suffered injuries in a fire that engulfed a building in the Indian city of Hajdarabad, the state of Telangan, said there on Sunday officials. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.

The fire broke out on Sunday early morning in a three -storey building where jewelry store is located. The rescue service statement states that they received a call call for help shortly after 6 am local time (2:00 h). “The fire broke out on the ground floor and spread to the upper floors. At the same time, extinguishing and rescue work was ongoing,” they said.

The statement also contained the names of 17 people who lost their lives in the incident. “The cause of the fire is the subject of the investigation,” the emergency services said in a statement.

Indian Prime Minister Naréndra fashion expressed “deep grip” over the loss of life and announced compensation for the closest relatives of each victim of 200,000 rupees (approximately 2090 euros). “The sincere condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injuries recover soon,” he said.

Fires in India often occur due to incorrect construction procedures, overpopulation and non -compliance with safety regulations, recalls AFP. Last month, a fire broke out at a Hotel in Calcutta, died at least 15 people.
