(PF) reported on Saturday (17) that it already has prepared aircraft to seek the trafficker Tuta, named Marcola and new maximum leader of the criminal faction First Command of the Capital (). Marcos Roberto de Almeida was captured on Friday (16), in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, carrying false documents. The arrest was supported by Lucha’s Special Fuerza against El Crial, Bolivia. Tuta was one of the most sought after criminals.

“Our teams are ready to leave Brasilia as soon as they have the confirmation, if it is the case of expulsion, to make the transfer,” said Federal Police Director General Andrei Rodrigues, during a press conference, held today in Brasilia.

Andrei Rodrigues, general director of the Federal Police, reported that Interpol’s office in the federal capital-which is a coordination within the PF International Cooperation Board-was called to check his databases and accurately inform the Bolivian police about the person who was presenting himself with a false document.

According to Bolivian authorities, the arrested man identified himself as Maycon Gonçalves da Silva, born March 25, 1971, when he sought to renew the Foreign Identity Card (CEI) in a city shopping center, a document required of non -Bolivian resident in the country.

After identifying the fugitive, the Federal Police reported the success of the capture to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP). “Minister Ricardo Lewandowski also, for the relevance of the case, informed President Lula and our chancellor, ambassador and minister Mauro Vieira, who promptly triggered our diplomatic mission in Bolivia to accompany the case and provide all the support to our units in that country,” said Rodrigues.

The individual remains in the custody of the Bolivian authorities, awaiting the legal procedures that may result in their expulsion or extradition to Brazil. The Director General of the Federal Police also pointed out that Brazil awaits Bolivia’s definition of procedures for the transfer of the faction leader. “We will wait for the Bolivian authorities to decide the legal possibilities from their regulation. We will await the decision of the country, which is sovereign,” said Rodrigues.

According to the authorities, there are two possible paths for the return of Tuta to Brazil. One is expulsion by irregular condition in Bolivian territory or the process of formal extradition, requested by the Brazilian government, which may require more time. “An audience is planned for tomorrow with judicial authorities from Bolivia, just as the custody hearings happen here, and our expectation is that tomorrow we have a return of this process: expulsion or extradition,” said the director.

As for the logistics of the eventual expulsion, the procedure may be executed by both Bolivian police, conducting the prisoner to Brazil or to the border, as well as by the Brazilian PF, who can perform the search directly. “This hearing is in Bolivian court and, once the decision is by expulsion, the decision goes to the next step that is the definition of the logistics question, always respecting the rules of the country where the prisoner is,” says the agency.

Rodrigues also stated that if the expulsion is confirmed, the measure will have immediate effect and may be met in a few hours or days. As soon as it is delivered to the Brazilian authorities, the trafficker will be transferred to a maximum Federal Security Penitentiary.
