During the Greek vacation, the mandatory point of the trip is a trying traditional Greek salad. Many people may be surprised that there is no lettuce in it. However, the basis is Fresh vegetables, such as tomatoes, colored peppers, or green cucumber. It can not be missing either olives and feta cheese. However, if you do not find one in the store, you can choose other salty salad cheese. In our version Greek salad for grilled dishes You will also find tasty dressing, based on olive oil, honey, lemon juice and oregano. Such a salad is not only tasty, but also very healthy.
To prepare the salad, you will need:
- 2-3 tomatoes (about 300 g),
- 1 greenhouse cucumber (about 200 g),
- ½ green pepper,
- ½ red pepper,
- 1 larger red onion or 2 small,
- 100 g of black olives (after straining),
- 250 g of feta cheese (or similar).
Ingredients for dressing:
- 1½ teaspoon oregano,
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil,
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice,
- ¼ teaspoon of honey,
- Salt, pepper (to taste).
Cut the cube tomatoes. Peel the cucumber and dice. Remove the seed nests from the peppers. Cut the pulp into cubes. Peel and cut the onion into cubes.
Combine vegetables in a bowl. Add olive strained from the pickle and diced feta cheese.
In a separate dish, combine olive oil, lemon juice and honey. Mix Add oregano. Season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
Add the sauce to the salad and mix all the ingredients. Serve right away. If you want to take the salad with you on a trip, combine the ingredients, but take the sauce in a jar and add just before consumption.
