Former Brazilian defender Lucimar da Silva Ferreira, better known as Lucio, 47, had 18% of his body burned in a domestic accident on Friday (16), according to the medical report on Saturday (18). He is still hospitalized in the ICU of Brasília Hospital, in the Federal District, in a stable state.
The information that the former athlete crashed was shared on his profile on Instagram on Friday night. According to the family, Lucio was burned in the ecological fireplace of home, which exploded.
“Former Brazilian defender, Lucio, is still stable and conscious, under the care of the team specializing in Burns of the Brasília Hospital – Rede Americas. This Saturday (17), underwent injuries and maintains good clinical evolution,” says a statement released by the private institution.
The severity of the injuries, however, was not disclosed.
Lucio has been out of the fields since 2020, when he announced his retirement after tickets for Gama and Brasiliense. Known for his “sheriff” style on the field, he has gone through major European clubs such as Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. He was also in the cast of the five -time championship of Brazil, in 2002.
In Brazil, he defended São Paulo, Internacional and Palmeiras. His last clubs were Gama and Brasiliense.
