Ship had 277 people on board and, after the accident, derived to a quay on the bank of Rio
A Mexican sailboat, named Cuauhtémoc, collided against the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday night (17). Two crew members died. Three masts broke and sailors were hung in the air by the strings of the ship. According to New York Mayor Eric Adams, the bridge was not damaged, but 19 people on board needed medical help. The case is about investigation.
In several videos you can see the sailboat navigating reverse towards the bridge at high speed, near the side of the East River Brooklyn. The bridge had intense traffic at the time of the collision, around 8 pm, local time. The ship had 277 people on board and, after the accident, derived to a quay on the bank of the river. No one fell into the water, authorities said.
