On Sunday 18th May at 10.00. The inaugural mass of Pope Leo XIV began. According to the media, more than two dozen heads of states are to participate in the ceremony. Among them is Monaco’s priest Charlene, Queen Letizia, Spain and the Belgian Queen of Mathilde. He revealed that the clothes they wear could not be chosen by anyone.

All three came to the ceremony in white assemblies, which everyone cannot afford to such an event. These three royal families are allowed to wear white in front of the Pope because they are Catholic queens and princesses.

Each of them is one of only seven women in the world who have a white privilege when meeting with the Holy Father. This special tradition applies exclusively to the designated Catholic queen and princesses and is reserved for important events in the Vatican such as they are private audiences, canonization, beatification and special masses.

A common protocol for papal audiences requires make ladies wear a long black dress with high collar and long sleeves and black mantille. As the Monaco Priest Charlene, Queen Letiza and the Belgian Queen Mathilde look in the gallery.
