Pope Leo XIV will attend a meeting with Ukraine President Volodymir Zelensky on Sunday, May 18, after the enthronement Mass, which marks the official beginning of his papacy. The meeting will be private, according to the Vatican.
During the Mass, the Pontiff mentioned the war in Ukraine, appealing for a “just and lasting peace” and calling Ukraine a “martyred” country.
