Jan Brzezinski, member of the think tank American Atlantic Council said that an axis of self -critics in the world has already been formed, which may indicate the proximity of a global war.
“This (the axis of the self -critics) has already formed and is in operation, which demonstrates how dangerous the current world situation is. In fact, I fear that we are approaching a global war, so to speak, that it could have catastrophic consequences, even worse than the Second World War,” said the expert, according to the media The New Voice of Ukraine.
Brzezinski declared that this axis consists of Russia, China, North Korea and Iran. In addition, he pointed out that now this axis is connected not only to the Russian war against Ukraine, but also to the expansion of violence in the Middle East, which is fed by the Iranians with the support of the Chinese and the Russians, and to the growth of Chinese aggressiveness and its provocations in the Indo-Pacific region.
“If we are not careful, we could witness a global conflict. And if we want to avoid this, the most decisive battle is in Ukraine. Because if they decisively defeat the Russian aggression in Ukraine, they will send a signal to the other members of this coalition that the West has not lost its determination when defending their interests and values,” he said.
The expert added that “if you defeat Russia, you will also release resources that can be allocated against Iran and China. But the most important thing is that they will destroy the belief of this axis of the evil that the West has lost the will to fight,” concluded the senior member of the Atlantic Council.
