Analysts reduce projection for inflation in 2025, points out Focus

Analysts consulted by Banco Central (BC) returned to reduce the estimate for inflation this year and raised the perspective for growth economic, according to research Focus released by the BC this Monday (19).

The survey, which captures the market perception for economic indicators, pointed out that the expectation for the discharge of the IPCA this year fell for the fifth week in a row, to 5.50%, from 5.51% the previous week. For 2026 the projection follows in advance of 4.50%.

The center of the official inflation target is 3%, always with a tolerance margin of 1.5 percentage point for more or less.

For Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the growth estimate by 2025 rose 0.02 percentage point to 2.02%, while for 2026 experts are still expanding 1.70%.

The weekly survey with a hundred economists also showed that the basic interest rate should end this year at the current level of 14.75%, going to 12.50% at the end of 2026.

For the exchange rate, the analysts consulted now see the dollar at 5.82 reais by 2025, from 5.85 before, maintaining the scenario from 5.90 reais to 2026.
