China launches the first quantum cryptography system in the world (and will be impossible to pirate)

The innovation was made by state company China Telecom Quantum Group and is ready to be sold.

A Chinese state company, China Telecom Quantum Group, announced the launch of what it claims to be First encryption system commercial of the world designed to resist attacks even from the most powerful quantum computers.

The system integrates two leading technologies -Distribution of Quantum Key (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)-In what the company describes as a distributed three-layer cryptography architecture. QKD ensures secure transmission of switches using the principles of quantum mechanics, while PQC uses advanced mathematical algorithms to protect decoding data from quantum algorithms.

In an important milestone, the company successfully concluded First call call with quantum encryption Interregional world, linking Beijing and Hefei, reports the.

Peng Chengzhi, Quantum Scientist Head of China Telecom and professor at China University of Science and Technology, stressed the urgent need for modernize cybersecurity infrastructures. “Public keys ending systems will face increasing threats as quantum computing evolves,” said Peng, underlining the importance of a proactive investment in quantum computing solutions.

The new system is allegedly ready to be launched commercially after successful tests in the real world. It is designed to support critical applications, such as real -time communications, data protection, and identity authentication, offering end -to -end quantum level security.

In addition to the system itself, China is quickly building a Dorsal spine of quantum communication at national level. Quantum networks were created in 16 major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hefei. Hefei’s Quantum Network is especially remarkable, sporting eight central knots, 159 access points and 1147 kilometers of QKD fiber infrastructure. Currently, the network serves 500 government agencies and 380 public companies.

As part of its set of offers, China Telecom also launched the “Quantum Secret”, which describes how first collaboration platform and messages with quantum safety of the world. Aimed at companies and public bodies, it offers reinforced protection for sensitive communications. In addition, the “Quantum Cloud Seal” platform supports high -risk applications such as government approvals, financial audits and business flows.
