Former president sent a demonstration to the STF giving up appeal; He said he wants to “restore peace” in Brazilian football
Ednaldo Rodrigues, President away from (Brazilian Football Confederation), gave up the appeal that contested its dismissal from the position. The text sent to the STF states that the accusations against him are “Orchestrated and coordinated by various groups, who have never been content to have broken up with oligarchies and have transparency and governance, groups that make no effort to cause pain.”.
Ednaldo’s dismissal was determined on Thursday (15.MAI) after questions about the authenticity of a signature in an agreement approved by the STF that kept him in office earlier this year. The signature in question was by Antonio Carlos Nunes de Lima, known as Colonel Nunes, former interim president of the CBF. An expertise identified evidence of fraud in the document, although Rodrigues denies irregularities.
After the departure, Fernando Sarney, one of the vice presidents, was designated as an intervener and called on new elections. The election for choosing the new CBF board is scheduled for next Sunday (25).
So far, only one plate has been recorded for the election, led by Samir Xaud of the Roraimense Football Federation, which should be confirmed as the next president of the entity.
In the document sent to the Supreme, Rodrigues claims that he is not running or supporting any candidate for the position of CBF president in the election convened by the intervener. The former leader wishes “good luck” to whom to take over the management of Brazilian football in the coming years.
Rodrigues also claimed to be a victim of “Political exclusion movements” by people who “They are not content to see Brazilian football on another level”.
