The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) reported on Sunday (18) that investigates a new suspected case of aviability flu in Rio Grande do Sul. According to the portfolio, the investigation occurs in a subsistence property located within 3 kilometers away from the initial focus of contamination in the municipality of Montenegro.
Also according to the ministry, the property receives “all the attention and treatment of agricultural defense”. The investigation has no impact on international trade or the safety of inspected food, the agency said.
The collected samples were sent to the Federal Agricultural Defense Laboratory of São Paulo, in Campinas, and will be processed on Monday (19). It should be released at the end of the day.
29 of the 30 rural properties located within 3 kilometers from the first focus of avian flu were inspected. The full survey should be finalized later this Sunday. In addition, in (7 kilometers from the 3 -kilometer radius), 238 of the 510 properties were inspected.
DISPOSAL AND DISINFECTION
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, the birds and eggs of the disease focus of the disease have already been discarded, and the. In addition, eggs from this property were “completely tracked” and the destruction is underway.

The agency also stated that it investigates a property in Aguiarnópolis (TO), which had samples collected with the presence of influenza A, according to preliminary analysis. According to the ministry, it is low, “in view of the epidemiological, laboratory and clinical characteristics observed in the investigation.”
“The map, finally, clarifies that in the activity of agricultural defense, and that in cases where emergencies are declared the system is sensitized and the number of investigations tends to increase at first, which reinforces the robustness of Brazil’s agricultural defense system, which serves and treats all investigations with efficiency and transparency,” concluded the ministry in a note.
