Retailleau becomes the chief of the French conservatives

Les Républicains or LR for short, as the conservatives and gaullists have been called since 2015, set the course for the presidential elections in two years on Sunday. The 120,000 party members had the choice between two hardliners, Bruno Retailleau (64) and Laurent Wauquiez (50).
