Veto applies to the cities of Cachoeirinha, Canoas, Santana Chapel, Esteio, Gravataí, Montenegro, Nova Santa Rita, Novo Hamburgo, Gate, São Leopoldo, Sapucaia do Sul and Triunfo
The Government of Santa Catarina prohibited the entry into its territory of living birds and fertile eggs from 12 municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul, due to the Zoosanitary Emergency Declaration for the detection of high pathogenicity (IAAP) aviary influenza, the so -called Avian flu.
“We report that the entry into the Santa Catarina territory of vivid birds and fertile eggs from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, except those from the following municipalities that are part of the focus area,” says Technical Note released on Saturday, 17, by the Santa Catarina State Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock.
The veto applies to the cities of Rio Grande do Sul, Canoas, Santana Chapel, Esteio, Gravataí, Montenegro, Nova Santa Rita, Novo Hamburgo, Gate, São Leopoldo, Sapucaia do Sul and Triunfo.

According to the note, the measure meets the need to adopt immediate measures of containment, mitigation and prevention of the dissemination of the etiological agent in Santa Catarina territory.
