The WHO chief asked Prime Minister Robert Fico to change his government’s opinion on Pandemic Agreement

The general director of the WHO addressed the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic regarding the Pandemic Agreement. Fico insists on the government’s instructions and requires voting.

Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus, CEO of the World Health Organization (WHO), asked Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) on Monday that the Government of the Slovak Republic will change its opinion and not to require a pandemic agreement to which it is to be made in the evening. Fico informed about it on the social network and reiterated that the Slovak delegation is committed to the Government Government Instruction to request a vote on the Pandemic Treaty.

The Prime Minister expressed a wonder that there are efforts to avoid the basic democratic institute, namely the vote. “If voting occurs, the Slovak delegation has the instruction of the pandemic agreement not to support because it disrupts the principle of sovereignty of the Member States and disproportionately interferes with the sphere of human rights,” Fico said.

Negotiations in Switzerland
