André Ventura considered that the arrival had an electoral “great night” this Sunday, becoming the “second largest party in Portugal”. Still, the leader of the far-right party warns that the party “has not yet won.”
“What a great night we had…”, he started to say André Ventura.
The arrival ends this electoral night with the Best result in historywith the same number of elected deputies than the PS. This is still missing the counting of the circles of Europe and outside Europe, which last year was more favorable to the arrival than to the socialists. To repeat the same result, the arrival will be Second Political Force in Portugal – As Vaticou Ventura, in his speech, at the end of the night.
“We do not yet know the end result. However, with the indications we have so far, I think we can assure the country Something that has never happened since April 25, 1974… The arrival has become, in this elections, the second largest party in Portugal, ”he said.
Referring to the parties that 10 years ago formed the spring, André Ventura said he defeated them: “The arrival surpassed the party of Mário Soares. The arrival killed the party of Álvaro Cunhal. The arrival sweeping the left block With a spot, which had never seen in Portugal ”.
Addressing Pedro Nuno Santos, who after this electoral result, Ventura said that “they [socialistas] haven’t seen anything yet ”while the supporters sang “Cry Pedro”.
“End of bipartisanship in Portugal”
Tonight, like what happened in last year’s legislatures, in which it arrives was the third largest political force, when choosing 50 deputies, Ventura also sang the “end of bipartisanship in Portugal”.
“We did what no party had ever done in Portugal. Today we can say with all the certainty and confidence that bipartisanship ended in Portugal (…) we are now the Opposition leaders“He said.
Even so, Ventura considered that the arrival did not win these elections. “We did what no one else had done… but we haven’t won…”, perspecting that the party will only stop in governance.
Ventura also left a promise to the Portuguese who entrusted him with the vote: “I mean here that we will demand accounts to everyone who destroyed Portugal (…) today We adjusted accounts with the story (…) I want to say thousands of families who can be proud today with the adjustment of accounts we made, ”he announced, promising continuity.
“I know that today in the newspapers and televisions of this country there is a great heartburn … But despite everything they did against us, I want to say that we won’t win against anyone we are going against anyone … We won the Portuguese and it is for them that we will work,” he said, under applause and songs.
