Italian company Lazzarini Design Studio recently revealed an ambitious project that promises to surprise the world of naval engineering. It is a colossal vessel, with design inspired by a turtle and dimensions so unusual that the breeders themselves refuse to call it a yacht.
Reference to the old supercontinent
Named Pangeos, according to As, the ship was thus appointed in honor of the former supercontinent Pangeia, which millions of years ago gathered almost all the terrestrial masses of the planet. The vessel, according to project authors, will have proportions never before seen and features that go beyond any other known model.
A new category of luxury vessel
Unlike traditional yachts, it will be classified as a terayacht, a new category of luxury ship due to its size and structure. The concept provides for the vessel to function as a floating city, capable of housing up to 60,000 people, according to the same source.
Included in this space will be shopping centers, swimming pools, hotels and gardens, creating a complete onboard experience. The infrastructure will be so vast that it will allow passengers to live on board with all the amenities of a modern city.
Shipyard of colossal proportions
According to the Design studio, the construction will require a 600 -meter shipyard ship, something that will only be possible after dredging a square kilometer area of sea. For this, it will be necessary to install a circular barrier that makes the works viable.
With a projected length of 550 meters and a width that reaches the 610 meters at certain points, this will be, according to the creators, “the largest ship ever built.” Saudi Arabia is pointed out as the ideal place for the execution of the endeavor.
A cost of thousands of millions
The estimated cost to make this dream come true around 8 billion euros, according to the project responsible, cited by AS. The start of construction is scheduled for 2025, with an execution period of eight years until Terayacht’s full completion.
