Supported by the president for the presidency of the PT, former mayor Edinho Silva denied, on Tuesday (20), that the agreement for his election be signed around names for the party direction.
Although he does not cite a specific case, Edinho tries to rule out the idea that negotiation with another wing of the CNB current (building a new Brazil) has sacracted Gleide Andrade’s permanence in the party’s treasury.
“We never talked about names and positions. This will be defined in the process of election of the party, the unit we are building is anchored in politics, in proposals for political action of the PT in the face of challenges,” said Edinho.
Although Edinho deny that the name of the finance secretariat holder is already defined, it was agreed that the indication for the treasury will be up to the group that is part of the current direction, of which Gleide is part. Also according to petistas, Lula will be heard about the future treasurer.
Under Lula’s interference, CNB sealed on Monday (19) support for Edinho’s candidacy, ending a dispute in the party’s greatest strength.
With unification, it is estimated that Edinho gets 55% of the votes, which would guarantee him the victory in the first round. He is expected to face three minority currents: Federal Deputy Rui Falcão (SP) and petist leaders Valter Pomar and Romênio Pereira. A will be on July 6th.
