On Monday, the German authorities detained a man suspected of an attack in which five people in Bielefeld suffered stabbed injuries on Sunday, the police said there. According to the DPA report, TASR reports this.
The attack occurred on Sunday before the bar near the main train station in Bielefeld, when the attacker attacked a sharp object of five men aged 22 to 27. Four people suffered serious injuries and two of them were initially in danger of life, but they managed to stabilize their condition, police spokeswoman said on Monday. A group of men of the attacker allegedly injured before he fled.
During the inspection of the crime scene, the police found several knives, a bag with identity documents and a bottle of liquid smelly after gasoline. However, the police have not yet confirmed whether the attack was committed by a knife.
The suspect is a 35-year-old citizen of Syria, whose police forces were detained after two raids in Heiligenhaus. The Syrian had no record in the criminal record. According to the authorities, the perpetrator is still being identified.
The Bielefeld Prosecutor’s Office said it was continuing the investigation and that it can provide further details on Tuesday.
