Lula Unifica Group, and Edinho is close to presiding PT – 19/05/2025 – Power

The dispute for the command of the Ceará Directory had a pact between the political group of Minister Camilo Santana (Education) and Governor Elmano de Freitas with the leader of the government in the House, José Guimarães. They will support the reelection of Antonio Alves Filho.

Even with the agreement around the name to preside over the Ceará section of the PT, the two groups must have separated plates in the proportional election by the other positions in the party structure.

In Bahia, the largest state governed by the PT, the party leader Tássio Brito has the support of part of CNB and other petist currents. Another part of Lula’s group is with Jonas Paulo.

A different case is Rio Grande do Sul, where CNB has no strength to elect the state president.

The favorite is the state deputy Valdeci Oliveira, from the current socialism under construction. He has the endorsement of the former minister and supports Edinho Silva at the national level. Another strong candidate is also the state deputy Sofia Cavedon of socialist democracy, whose plate supports Rui Falcão nationally.

Names of other minority party trends, such as state deputy Stela Farias, former petista state president Júlio Quadros and the special advisor of the Planalto Institutional Relations Secretariat responsible for serving southern mayors, Thiago Braga, also competes.

There are still disputes in Sergipe and Espírito Santo.
