Representatives of entities that organize a popular plebiscite about, reduction of the journey and asked President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to participate in the consultation, which will take place between July and September.
The invitation was transmitted through Minister Márcio Macêdo, of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, during a meeting at the Planalto Palace on Monday (19) that also had representatives of the Ministries of Finance, Institutional Relations and Labor.
“One of the central moments of the referendum will be the vote of President Lula, who will have the role of radiating the debate in society and boosting popular consultation. We want him to vote in a large public act,” says Igor Felippe Santos, member of the plebiscite coordination.
There will be two questions. “Are you in favor of reducing the workday without salary reduction and the end of the 6×1 scale?” Says one of them.
The other is focused on the exemption project for income of up to R $ 5,000 with higher tax rate for higher gains, one of the government’s legislative priorities in the year.

The consultation starts on July 1st and will go until September 7th. There will be voting on banknotes in places such as unions, churches and headquarters of associations and movements in 27 states and as many municipalities as possible. An application is also being prepared that allows online vote.
The universe of voters is the same as the general elections, and to participate it will only be necessary to present an identification document.
There is no estimate of attendance, but a comparison base may be that of two popular consultations made in past years.
In 2002, a plebiscite against it attracted 10 million people. In 2014, another in defense of a Constituent Assembly had 5 million voters.
