After comings and goings on the inmates, the mayor of Maricá (RJ) and national vice president of the acronym, Washington Quaquá, announced again, on Monday (19), his withdrawal to compete.
The decision was announced after a meeting with the minister (institutional relations), also on Monday, in which Quaquá opened to apply to support the candidacy of Edinho Silva, former mayor of Araraquara and name supported by the president (PT).
“In response to President Lula and contributing to the CNB unit (building a new Brazil, PT’s internal current), which is indispensable for the PT’s good governance, and to have a party with direction and united for the reelection of President Lula, I came to talk to Minister Gleisi, and here we come to the best not to register the candidacy for CNB and the candidate being the candidate and the candidate being the candidate being the candidate and the candidate being the candidate being the candidate Of all, “Quaquá wrote on social networks.
The mayor had to apply and in two weeks changed positioning more than once. On May 7, as reported by Sheethe gave up competing and the name of João Paulo Rodrigues, national coordinator of (Landless Rural Workers Movement).
Less than a week later, on the 13th, Quaquá led an event at Circo Voador, at the sambistas and samba school batteries, to launch his own presidential candidacy.
On Monday, six days after the event in which he launched a candidate, he announced the definitive withdrawal – the date is the deadline for registering the plates that will compete for the election of the party, the first direct vote in the PT since 2013. Without Quaquá, the presidential deputy Rui Falcão (SP), the Secretary of International Relations of the PT, Romênio Pereira, and the leader Valter Pomar.
In April, the former mayor “never got his shoes in a community” and “can’t unify the party.”
Quaquá belongs to CNB, a majority current of the PT of which are also part Lula, Gleisi and Edinho. According to the mayor, who integrates a wing that had manifested contrary to Edinho’s candidacy, the change of posture was built “from yesterday to today” after rounds of conversation within the trend, as the petist currents are internally known.
Part of the discontent of CNB members to the candidacy of Edinho, which caused a crack in the party, is attributed to the fact that the former mayor of Araraquara signaled that he would take office the current treasurer Gleide Andrade, allied of Gleisi, a year from the elections.
In addition to the importance given to the treasurer in electoral years – with the position pointed out as as important as that of the president for distributing the party and electoral funds – Gleide works internally to leave Federal Deputy through Minas Gerais and sees, in an eventual departure, the reduction of his chances of being elected.
Outside the CNB, minority groups require the PT to adopt the leftist postures, as alleged by Rui Falcão to April 14.
After registration of the applications, the debates will begin between the candidates. The election will be in July and works directly by the vote of the affiliates.
