While speculation about a possible coming from Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo to a Brazilian club at the FIFA Club World Cup continues, the backstage of the probable negotiation moves at full swing. One of the four Brazilian teams that will participate in the tournament (Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense or Palmeiras) would have made a significant proposal to the player.
According to information from the newspaper ‘Extra’, if the negotiation is completed, the Brazilian club in question would need to bear a high cost to count on Ronaldo in the cast.

What would be Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary in Brazil?
The estimated amount to keep the player, based on the salary he receives at Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia, is around $ 106 million. This amount corresponds to what he receives annually at the Arab club, where he is the best paid athlete in the world, according to Forbes magazine.
The amount would be paid for participation in the Club World Cup which, if the Brazilian team reaches the final, will last just over a month. However, other scenarios are evaluated.
Also according to ‘Extra’, if the contract is established according to the team’s performance in the tournament, the amounts paid to Cristiano Ronaldo will vary according to the time of participation.
If the team advances to the round of 16, with games scheduled until July 1, the amount would rise to about $ 73.5 million. If the club reaches the quarterfinals and the semifinal, which take place between July 4th and 9th, the total amount disbursed with the Portuguese star salaries would reach approximately R $ 98 million.
Flamengo and Palmeiras will make their debut at the World Cup on June 15, Botafogo on the 16th, and Fluminense on the 17th.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo play the Club World Cup?
The proposal made by a Brazilian club aims at a temporary participation of the player in the Club World Cup, lasting limited to the competition period.
To get hired, the team would have to negotiate with Al Nassr, the current club of CR7, to obtain a temporary release of the player. In addition, it would be necessary to adjust the financial package to meet the expectations of the athlete and the Arab club. The negotiation would also involve contractual issues such as image rights and possible performance clauses.
So far, none of the Brazilian clubs who will participate in the competition or representatives of Cristiano Ronaldo have positioned themselves about the possible negotiation.
Former partner invites CR7 to play in Brazil
Former defendant Rafael, who retired in 2024, used social networks to make an unusual invitation: he called Cristiano Ronaldo to defend Botafogo at the Club World Cup. The proposal was made through an audio published on Instagram, in which Rafael talks to the former partner of Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand, asking him to intercede in the situation.
In the message, Rafael says, in a good mood: “Rio, where are you? Tell Cristiano Ronaldo to play at Botafogo, my friend. Ask him to play the Club World Cup for Botafogo, please send him this message!”. Ferdinand’s response came in a relaxed tone, with laugh emojis, and the publication gained repercussion on social networks.
