The presenter FERNANDO FERNANDES44, “walked” for the first time after 14 years and shared a video of the moment on his social networks. The athlete, who participated in the BBB 2suffered a car accident in 2009, which left him paraplegic.
In the images, he walks thanks to equipment attached to his legs, which help with movement. “After 14 years without seeing, I can’t even imagine my legs moving, I could rekindle a flame that had been erased in me. Walking has not been part of my plans for a long time and was no longer a priority since I discovered a world of a new form, with wheels and wings and that completes me!” He quoted in an excerpt from his caption.
In the publication, Fernando also reported having the feeling of walking. “Amazingly, I could feel my feet touch the floor, although I didn’t have the sensitivity, it shook me inside.”
“Returning to the rational chat, since I became a complete awareness of, I was clear that only technology would be interested in returning these movements, while medicine will prefer to remedy! Well, we follow in search of the ‘next steps’…”, he concluded.
Earlier this year, by participating in the third episode of “BBB: The Documentary – more than a peek,” the athlete reported the change of treatment by other people after the serious car accident.
At the time when he was selected to be one of the participants in the reality show, he was a model. However, his relationship with the standards changed when he lost his movements below the waist. At the same time, he connected with another part of himself after the accident.
