The Chinese government defended on Tuesday (20), the continuous strengthening of the manufacturing industry as an essential part of the country’s modernization project. The position was expressed in an official statement about a visit by the president of the country, to the city of Luoyang, where the agent inspected the facilities of manufacturer Luoyang Bearing Group. During the visit, Xi stated that “the always joined the path of development of the real economy.” According to him, the country has surpassed the old dependence on imported products, such as matches, soap and iron, and today is “the largest manufacturing country in the world, with the most complete industrial categories.” For the government, this proves that “we take the right way.”
The statement reinforces the need to “continually strengthen the manufacturing sector” and follow the principles of “self -sufficiency and strengthening”, dominating essential technologies in strategic areas. Xi also highlighted the importance of cooperation between “industries, universities and research institutes” and the formation of “a large number of high quality talents”. Luoyang Bearing is pointed out by the government as an example of industrial modernization. According to the statement, the company “invested strongly in scientific and technological research” and has made relevant advances. Its bearings for wind turbines already have “more than 40% of domestic market share”.
