Three Brazilians occupy positions in the ranking of the 100 most powerful women in the business world in 2025, according to the American magazine Fortune.
The publication released its ranking on Wednesday (21), highlighting names such as Tarciana Medeiros, executive president of Banco do Brasil, Lívia Chanes, CEO of Nubank in Brazil, and Magda Chambriard, CEO of Petrobras.
Both Tarciana and Magda have held positions in previous years.

Banco do Brasil’s CEO was in 61st position last year and figure in 64th this year. Among the highlights of his career are the recognition of the role of Banco do Brasil in the slavery regime, with participation in the slave trade, and the fact that he is the first woman to direct the bank in 213 years of existence.
Petrobras president, on the other hand, occupies the 95th place in the ranking and retreated 13 positions compared to last year’s placement. The publication states that Magda has entered the Petroleira presidency at a difficult time and that maintains a “controversial plan” of recovery, composed of initiatives such as the exploitation of the equatorial margin and the intensification of sustainability efforts. The CEO must remain at the post until 2027, after receiving an extension of a warrant of two years.
Lívia Chanes is a newcomer to the list and leads the Brazilian operation of the institution, while Cristina Junqueira, Cofunder of Fintech, acts on the company’s international expansion.
