Amazonas Energy will have an average reduction of 1.35% in the fare

Agency approved a new rate with a 0.77% increase for industries and a 2.20% drop for residential and rural consumers

The (National Electric Energy Agency) approved this Thursday (20.MAI.2025) the annual tariff adjustment of. The average index will be -1.35% and will be valid from Sunday (26.mai).

The impact varies according to the consumer profile:

  • High voltage consumers (industries and large and medium -sized companies) will have an average increase of 0.77%;
  • Low voltage consumers (such as houses, rural areas and small businesses) will have an average reduction of 2.20%.

According to the agency, the result was influenced by factors such as the increase in sectoral charges and financial components of the distributor. On the other hand, the drop in transportation and energy purchase cost contributed to mitigating the readjustment.

Amazonas Energia serves about 1.04 million consumer units in the state of Amazonas. Headquartered in Manaus, the company has annual revenues close to R $ 4.4 billion, according to Aneel data.

Return by overcontracting

During the same meeting, the agency’s board also approved the amount of R $ 111.3 million to be returned by Amazonas Energia to CCC (fuel consumption account). Payment will be made in a single installment in June.

The return refers to the so -called overcontracting, when the company hires more energy than effective demand, and short -term exposure between March 2024 and February 2025.
