“Cabaz da Terra” returns to Tavira with a visit to local producers under the Museum Day

As part of the 2025 International Museum Day celebrations, the Municipal Museum resumes the “Cabaz da Terra” project with a new edition scheduled for next Sunday, May 25, at 15:30, in the parish of Santo Estêvão.

According to the municipality of Tavira, “Cabaz da Terra invites participants to discover local products through their producers, providing an authentic and educational experience about agricultural work and the Mediterranean knowledge transmitted from generation to generation”.

This year’s edition will take place in a melaory located in Estiramantens, where participants will have the opportunity to visit and know the functioning of the family unit guided by Manuel Nascimento and his grandson, Alexandre

“The experience proposes to make known the process of honey production, from hive to the final product, revealing the techniques and secrets that make Mel a special product,” explains the municipality of Tavira.

The initiative also includes “a race of honey and derivatives that will allow you to appreciate different aromas and flavors”, and at the end of the experience, “each participant receives a cabaz with selected products from Melaria to take home,” says the note.
