Do it with strawberries before eating them, and they will be really clean
They appear slowly on the stalls and appear in the greengrocer. It cannot be denied that this is one of the most -consumed seasonal fruits in Poland – they are sweet, juicy and full of vitamins. However, before they hit the plate, it is worth finding out how to wash them properly, to remove not only sand or insects from them, but also pesticide remains, transport pollution or bacteria. Probably each of us perfectly that before we eat strawberries, they should be washed. All the more so if the fruits we purchased come from a source unknown to us. Then they can contain not only toxic substances, but also various bacteria and parasite eggs. Therefore, just washing strawberries under running water may be insufficient. So how is the rule? Do it before you eat them and they will be really clean.
How to wash strawberries to make them clean?
There are several rules in washing strawberries that will not only make the fruit clean, but also allow them to maintain their unique taste. First of all, never remove strawberry stalks before washing them. This is important because without stalks, fruit absorbs water like a sponge, which can worsen their taste and consistency. First place the strawberries in a strainer and thoroughly rinse under running, cold water. Then prepare a bath for them. This is important if you want to get rid of possible pesticides or microorganisms. Dip strawberry for a few minutes in a solution of water with vinegar (3: 1 ratio) or in lightly salted water. After such a procedure, the fruit should be rinsed with clean water again. Finally, dry the fruit and tasty.
