The Local Office (MIU) in Petržalka in Bratislava is waiting for forensic, financial, legal, managerial and personnel in -depth audit for the period from 2019 to the present, especially in custody with a recently revealed million -dollar fraud. The amount of EUR 300,000 is to be allocated from the reserve fund. This stems from the resolution approved by the local council at Wednesday’s extraordinary meeting. At the same time, MEPs approved further checks and tasks for the local controller.

The audit should focus on any shortcomings, misconduct, iniquity or violation of legislation in connection with the findings of detected fraud at the office. MEPs also commissioned a local controller to carry out several inspections, including one that was agreed in 2023, but was not carried out. They also require strengthening the controller.

Similarly, they will request an explanation in connection with the audit of the final account of the city district for 2023 where The auditor stated the flawless management of finances, and this was not the case as well as whether it is possible to deduce liability. One of the checks is also to the financing of the Draždiak Arena and the Pankúchov sports hall.

“It’s a huge amount, a huge shame. It’s a serious problem. But as I said, I can’t get it back, ” The mayor of Petržalka Ján Hrčka stated, who strongly refused to depreciate the work of clever and wise employees of the Office by some deputies.

He enclosed and denied several statements of the members of the Team Bratislava and PS also on his person. He also pointed to The “purpose -based” video, where the parliamentary club states that already in 2023 he proposed a control that could detect fraud at the local authority earlier. The mayor stressed that he had never resisted any control, or two years ago, but this was no longer recorded in the video.

At the same time stressed that the check It could have been realized if the deputies did not “overwhelm” the local controller with other controls that were a priority for them. He also expressed the belief that such a deep audit would not cost “only” 300,000 euros, but the amount may be much higher.

The vice -mayor of Petržalka, Ján Karman, pointed out in connection with the proposal of the audit that he could “overwhelm and paralyze” the Office. According to him, checks are necessary, but In particular, it is necessary to focus on identifying risks and which control mechanisms are sufficient and which are not. He declared that a similar situation would not happen in the future. The case is also to be addressed this week by the Local Finance Commission.

The greatest criticism towards the mayor went again from the strongest parliamentary club Team Bratislava and PS. They spoke on extensive neglected control mechanisms or managerial failure of the Office. In connection with the amount of the audit, there was also a note that the originally approved amount of EUR 300,000 could also be increased if necessary.

On the contrary, from other deputies, support words have been heard towards the mayor and what he has done for Petržalka so far, although they are “his” person “, He is clever or honest and the results of his work speak for themselves. At the marginal statement of the strongest parliamentary club, they were heard that it was a “znost” half -truths and wrong. What happened to them is sorry, but for everyone it is a lesson.

Some employees of the Office or residents also came to support the mayor. He was supported by the deputy of the Bratislava self -governing region (BSK) for Petržalka Peter Cmorej, who in the past was also Petržalský local sent, former vice -mayor Petržalka Lýdia Ovečková or former mayor of Ružinov Dušan Pekár. Some citizens who also gave him several applause for his work so far have also expressed his support words.

At the same time, the local council took note of the resignation of the mayor of Petržalka Ján Hrčka on May 31. From 1 June The first vice -mayor Iveta Jančoková will perform these tasks. At the same time, they commissioned to submit a request to the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic for the announcement of elections to the municipal authorities after the mandate of the mayor.
