The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (MOD) has officially authorized the KRAMPUS, a non -manned land vehicle (UGV) of National Development with thermobáric armament that is designed for offensive and defensive operations, as reported by the media which has indicated that it can also be equipped with reactive thermobáric launchers for use by the Ukrainian armed forces.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Krampus is compact in size and weight, and can be transported in the box of a truck, minibus or trailer. The UGV is also very silent thanks to its silent electric engines and a chassis with caterpillars. This configuration allows you to move even in the most difficult land, such as off -road areas, dense forests, sand, spathers and pronounced slopes.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the UGV also benefits from electronic war -resistant control channels (EW). In addition, it can operate in various climatic conditions, such as cold, heat, snow and rain. Thanks to its battery package, Krampus can also work for hours, which allows it to remain in service in a position for prolonged periods.
“The terrestrial robotic system is equipped with video cameras and an armed weapons station with RPV-16 reactive thermobáric launchers, capable of eliminating enemy personnel and slightly armored vehicles,” explained the moderate mode in its press release.
At the operating end of the UGV, the integrated thermobaric system is designed to offer devastating fire power in small spaces. When activating the eyelet, the system disperses a fine cloud of spray fuel with an approximate diameter of 7 to 8 meters.
In 0.2 seconds, the vaporized mixture is turned on producing a high temperature fire ball that reaches 2500 ° C, he explained Militarnyi. This ignition causes extreme thermal damage and a powerful overpressure wave that neutralizes personnel in closed or fortified spaces.
