No help has yet been distributed in the Gaza Strip, the United Nations said on Tuesday, a day after Israel allowed the resumption of limited humanitarian deliveries after an 11-week blockade at the Palestinian Enclave, where hunger sets in, experts warn.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujaric said four babies food trucks were left on the border side on Monday, and a few dozen flour trucks, medicines, nutritional supplies and other basic items entered Gaza on Tuesday.
“Israeli authorities are demanding that we discharge the supplies on the Palestinian side of Kerem Shalom’s passage and recharge them separately as soon as they ensure our team from inside the Gaza Strip,” Dujaric told reporters.
“Today, one of our teams has waited several hours through the Israeli green light to access the Kerem Shalom area and collect nutrition supplies. Unfortunately, they could not bring these supplies to our deposit,” he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, a spokesman for the UN Humanitarian Office in Geneva said Israel had given permission to about 100 aid trucks to enter Gaza.
UN’s help of help, Tom Fletcher, said on Monday that the initial amount of aid approved by Israel was “a drop in the ocean.”

Israel says it plans to intensify military operations against Hamas and control the entire Gaza strip, devastated by an Israeli air and terrestrial war since the Hamas Transfronho attack on Israeli communities in October 2023.
Israel said his blockade aims to partly prevent Palestinian militants from diverting and seizing help supplies. Hamas denied having done it.
A US -backed group plans to start working in the Gaza Strip by the end of May, overseeing a new aid distribution model at Palestinian enclave. But the UN states that the plan is not impartial or neutral and will not get involved.

Malnutrition rates in the densely populated territory have increased during Israeli blockage and may make worse if food scarcity continues, a UN Palestinian Refugee Agency employee said Unrwa on Tuesday.
“I have data until the end of April and they show that malnutrition is increasing,” said Akihiro Seita, health director of Unrwa.
“And the concern is that if the current food scarcity continues, it will increase exponentially and be out of our control.”
