Two federal deputies of the party that has a ministry in the government and should earn one more with the trip to the General Secretariat of the Presidency, filed a project to stop a federal management decree that.
The initiative is from deputies Fernanda Melchionna (RS) and Sâmia Bomfim (SP), who belong to the wing of the bench that argues to maintain distance from the Lula administration, without appointment of positions.
The decree, from late April, took R $ 2.5 billion from (Ministry of) and reduced the use of funds by the folder. The universities’ budget will be relocated and monthly transfers, fractionated in 18 parts.
In the text, parliamentarians argue that the decree, in practice, would be a budget cut. “The funds, even if foreseen, cannot be legally used, becoming unenforceable. The result is the same: less money available, less service provided, and more precariousness of public universities.”
Melchionna says it is not admissible that social areas “pay the price of the harmful economic policy of the fiscal framework.”
Already Sâmia criticizes the cut and recalls that the PSOL voted against the tax framework “precisely because it was inevitable that there were contingencies and cuts in essential areas, such as the budget of universities.”
“Many universities claim that, next month, many essential activities will be paralyzed without these resources and, especially, to present to the academic community, students and servers, an instrument for mobilization, because that is what has determined at other times, in other governments, the reversal of cuts as large as this,” he said.
