Shooting leaves five injured near the Grêmio Arena

Five men were injured after being shot during a shooting near the Grêmio Arena in Porto Alegre on Tuesday night (20).

The case occurred around 9 pm, a few minutes before the start of.

According to the Military Police, the exchange of fire took place at Rua Padre Arthur Wickert, in the Humaitá neighborhood, less than 100 meters from the stadium.

According to preliminary information, the shots would have been made by two suspects who were on a black motorcycle, model 150cc.

Four individuals were shot at the initial moment of the occurrence – two of them were inside a bar, while the other two were hit on the street. Subsequently, police identified a fifth victim, which would have hidden after being shot.

Two of the injured were sent to the Christ the Redeemer Hospital, and the other three, including both with more serious injuries – one with four perforations and one with two – were taken to the Emergency Room Hospital (HPS), where they remain in care in the Red Room.

Also according to police, the victims have criminal records for crimes such as trafficking, theft, threat and body injury. Two of the shots have a possible bond with criminal organization.

Until 9:50 pm, the Military Brigade and the Civil Police were driving at the scene, which was isolated for expertise. No prison had been held until the time of the report.

Police are working on identifying the perpetrators and investigating the motivations of the crime.
